Kamui Kobayashi hoopt op stoeltje bij Lotus F1 Racing

Technisch directeur Mike Gascoyne van Lotus F1 Racing mag dan zeggen dat ze twee ervaren coureurs willen voor 2010, maar dat weerhoudt Kamui Kobayashi er niet van om zichzelf aan te bieden. De Japanner reed echter pas twee Grands Prix.

Daarin liet hij een behoorlijke indruk achter en hij leek ook op weg naar een racestoeltje bij Toyota, maar de Japanse autofabrikant zette het Formule 1-project stop. Kobayashi: Mijn plekje bij Toyota ben ik kwijt, dat moge duidelijk zijn. Ik was dicht bij een contract voor 2010, maar we krijgen vier nieuwe teams en we hebben nog andere opties. Als ik zou mogen kiezen uit de nieuwe renstallen, dan zou ik voor Lotus F1 Racing gaan.
