Mark Webber plezierig verrast door GP3-auto

Mark Webber is vanaf volgend jaar niet alleen Formule 1-coureur, hij begint ook samen met zijn baas Christian Horner een team in de GP3, een nieuwe klasse in het voorprogramma van de Grands Prix. De Red Bull Racing-coureur voelde gisteren op Paul Ricard de auto aan de tand en wat hij voelde beviel hem zeer.

Webber: Ik ben plezierig verrast door de GP3-auto. Dit was mijn eerste ervaring met deze wagen en ik kan eerlijk zeggen dat het echt voelt als een kleine Formule 1-bolide. Veel aspecten waren hetzelfde als wat ik gewend ben, maar dan op een kleinere en mindere schaal, zoals bijvoorbeeld de flippers voor het schakelen en de koppeling.

Het grootste voordeel van deze serie is dat de races plaatsvinden in het voorprogramma van de Grands Prix. Dit betekent veel aandacht voor de coureurs en de Formule 1-teambazen zullen de races zeker bekijken. Al met al vind ik het een geweldige auto, ben ik onder de indruk van het gehele pakket en ik kan niet wachten op de eerste race.
