Aerodynamicaspecialist Loic Bigois wint Dino Toso Award

Loic Bigois, hoofd aerodynamica bij Brawn/Mercedes GP, heeft de prijs voor beste aerodynamicaspecialist van het jaar gewonnen. De award is vernoemd naar de Nederlander Dino Toso, die in de Formule 1 voor Jordan en Renault werkte. Toso overleed in 2008 aan kanker.

Bigois is vereerd met de prijs en draagt hem op aan zijn afdeling. Ik ben zeer trots om deze award namens de hele aerodynamica-afdeling van Brawn in ontvangst te nemen. Ik ben blij met de Dino Toso Award, ik had zeer veel waardering voor Dino. De organisatie zou deze prijs echter toe moeten kennen aan een hele afdeling en niet aan één iemand.

Resultaten zijn het gevolg van teamwork van een hele afdeling en niet van een individu. 2009 was een mooi, maar ook een zwaar jaar. In dezelfde week in maart boekten we een dubbelzege in Melbourne en ontsloegen we mensen in de fabriek. Het was destijds moeilijk om van het succes te genieten. Ik draag deze prijs op aan de hele aerodynamica-afdeling, ook aan de mensen die niet meer bij ons werken. Onze dank gaat uit naar hun bijdrage.
