Toyota: "Geen commentaar op speculatie over Stefan GP"

Toyota weigert zich uit te laten over de geruchten dat de Japanse autofabrikant de Formule 1-renstal afstaat aan AMCO, dat onder de noemer Stefan GP deel wil nemen aan de sport. Toyota zou doorverkoop overwegen om een boete te voorkomen.

De Japanse autofabrikant verbond zich namelijk door het ondertekenen van de nieuwe Concorde Agreement tot en met 2012 aan de Formule 1, maar trekt zich na dit jaar al terug. Het startbewijs doorverkopen is wellicht de enige manier om een fikse boete af te wenden. En zo komen AMCO en Stefan GP in beeld. Bij Toyota zwijgt men over dit onderwerp. Zolang AMCO geen startrecht heeft voor 2010 betreft het pure speculatie en daar geven we geen commentaar op, aldus een woordvoerder van Toyota.
