Whitmarsh volgt Di Montezemolo op als FOTA-voorzitter

McLaren-teambaas Martin Whitmarsh is door de teambazen naar voren geschoven als opvolger van Luca di Montezemolo als voorzitter van teamverbond FOTA. Bronnen bevestigen dat tegenover Autosport.

Christian Horner van Red Bull Racing krijgt de positie voorzitter van de Sportieve Werkgroep, terwijl Ross Brawn van Mercedes GP aan het hoofd van de technische werkgroep blijft staan. Dit is besloten tijdens een vergadering van de FOTA in Monaco.

    Oké, laten we nu met z\'n allen Martin Whitmarsh zwart maken en zeggen dat al zijn beslissingen in het voordeel zijn van McLaren, net zoals Di Montezemolo, volgens sommige anti\'s althans, \'altijd\' in het voordeel van Ferrari sprak... Ben benieuwd of diezelfde anti\'s er nu ook zo over zullen denken. Dit geschreven zijnde, hoop ik dat Martin het goed doet en dat hij, als het moet, pal staat tegenover de FIA. Ik heb trouwens ergens gelezen dat ze een nieuw puntensysteem aan het overwegen zijn...

      Als dit een maatstaf is voor de rest van je commentaren verklaart dat veel..
      Di Montezemolo is gekozen door de rest van de teambazen. Hij heeft zelf besloten op te stappen, niet onder druk, maar vanweger persoonlijke keuzes. En nu is dus een nieuwe voorzitter gekozen. En zoals eerder gezegd, een voorzitter leidt oa vergaderingen, maar heeft geen alleenrecht op het nemen van beslissingen. In dit geval zal het gewoon de meerderheid van stemmen binnen de FOTA zijn die een voorstel aanneemt of niet.

    Een voorzitter heeft meestal de leiding van een vereniging en heeft ook de leiding bij vergaderingen. Een voorzitter neemt geen zelfstandige beslissingen in een vereniging, dus de discussie of een voorzitter in het voordeel van z\'n eigen team beslist lijkt me totaal niet aan de orde en was dat bij Di Mozzerella ook niet aan de orde.
    Ik hoop dat de FOTO de sport aantrekkelijker kan maken, dat is in het belang van alle teams, sponsors en fans.

    hahaha, direct de ferrari fans erboven op he. Wees gerust, ik wou enkel gwn ff kwaad bloed zetten. Wel grappig dat iedereen direct verontwaardigd is :p.

    Maak me niet uit wie voorzitter is van de FOTA, alhoewel dat ik whitmarsh niet zo vurig en agressief zie onderhandelen als di Montezeveraar.
