Lotus: "Uiteindelijk zullen wij net zo te werk gaan als Ferrari"

Het nieuwe Lotus F1 Racing heeft vooralsnog geen nauwe band met de straatautoproducent Lotus Cars. De renstal maakt gebruik van de naam met dank aan Proton, eigenaar van Lotus Cars. Na verloop van tijd kan die band er wel komen, zo liet teambaas Tony Fernandes weten.

Onze relatie zal in de toekomst groeien. Lotus Cars koopt zich op een gegeven moment waarschijnlijk in bij het team. Steeds meer technologie van ons zal richting de straatautos gaan en wij promoten het merk. Uitiendelijk zal onze manier van werken niet veel verschillen van de gang van zaken bij Ferrari, aldus Fernandes.
