Budget Virgin Racing bedraagt minder dan 40 miljoen pond

Het klinkt tegenstrijdig in een wereld als de Formule 1 en toch gaat Virgin Racing een poging doen om successen te boeken met het laagste budget van de grid. Brawn GP bewees dit jaar dat geld niet altijd doorslaggevend is voor het resultaat. Voor 2010 hanteert Virgin Racing een budget van minder dan 40 miljoen pond.

Virgin-baas Richard Branson: De Formule 1 probeert de kosten voor deelname terug te dringen. Ons team zal met het laagste budget werken. Ons budget bedraagt minder dan 40 miljoen pond en alle teams moeten in twee, drie jaar naar dat niveau. Maar geld is niet alles en wij willen door dappere engineering, goede coureurs en betrokkenheid met het publiek succesvol zijn.
