Team Renault blijft bestaan met Genii Capital als grootaandeelhouder

Renault gaat door in de Formule 1. De Franse autofabrikant verkoopt een groot deel van de aandelen in de renstal aan investeringsmaatschappij Genii Capital van Gerard Lopez. De naam van het team blijft Renault en Renault gaat ook door als motorleverancier in de Formule 1.

Bernard Rey, president van het Formule 1-team van Renault: Het doet me deugd om Genii Capital als strategische partner te verwelkomen en ik weet zeker dat ze met hun enthousiasme en zakenkennis een nieuwe dynamiek creëren voor het team, de staf en onze partners. We verheugen ons op de competitie op het hoogste niveau, de Formule 1.

Deze aankondiging is ook een bewijs van het vertrouwen van Renault in en de verbondenheid aan de leidinggevende instanstanties om het groene imago van de sport te verbeteren. We zullen de kwaliteiten van Renault als het gaat om hoogwaardige, brandstofefficiciënte auto's laten zien.
