Lucas di Grassi: "Formule 1-zitje is droom die uitkomt"

Lucas di Grassi maakt volgend jaar zijn debuut in de Formule 1. De 25-jarige Braziliaan gaat aan de slag bij het nieuwe team Virgin Racing. Di Grassi reed vier jaar in de GP2 en is blij met zijn kans in de koningsklasse van de autosport. Eindelijk een racestoeltje krijgen is een droom die uitkomt, het voelt fantastisch.

Hij vervolgt: Ik heb de afgelopen jaren keihard gewerkt en me continu voorbereid op een eventuele kans. Ik heb vier jaar in de GP2 geracet en twee jaar getest voor Renault. Nu ben ik op het hoogtepunt van mijn loopbaan en ik voel me optimaal voorbereid. Het is een geweldige mogelijkheid om bij een solide team met een sterke stalgenoot mijn eerste stappen in de Formule 1 te zetten.

Een Formule 1-stoeltje glipte al een paar keer door mijn vingers, soms vanwege goede redenen en soms vanwege slechte redenen. Ik heb de hoop nooit opgegeven, ben blijven werken en nu komt mijn kans. Dit is de start van een nieuwe uitdaging. Mijn motivatie is hoger dan ooit, ik zal nog harder werken om me aan de Formule 1 aan te passen en hoop op een lange en succesvolle periode in de Formule 1.

veel plezier bij de nieuwe minardi.... hoop dat ze seizoen vol maken met dat budget.

\"solide team\"? Eerst maar eens zien.
Hoewel ik het dapper vindt dat men met dat budget deelneemt...zou ook meer als voldoende moeten zijn.
Het is eigenlijk toch ziek om een (paar) honderd miljoen per jaar of meer uit te geven om twee auto\'s te laten rijden.
