Nico Rosberg krijgt dit jaar bij Mercedes GP Michael Schumacher als teamgenoot. In tegenstelling tot veel andere Duitsers ging zijn sympathie vroeger niet uit naar Schumacher, maar naar diens grote concurrent Mika Hakkinen.

In Auto Bild Motorsport legt Rosberg uit: Om eerlijk te zijn was ik fan van Mika Hakkinen. Ik was altijd blij wanneer hij Schumacher versloeg, want Mika was een goede vriend van onze familie. Vader Keke Rosberg deed een tijdje dienst als manager van Hakkinen.
