Fisichella over racestoeltje voor 2010: "Zeg nooit nooit"

Giancarlo Fisichella hoopt nog altijd een plek op de grid voor komend seizoen te bemachtigen. De Italiaan is verzekerd van een contract als derde rijder bij Ferrari, maar hij zou graag nog een jaartje racen. De drievoudig Grand Prix-winnaar houdt alle opties open.

Aan Autosport deelde Fisichella mede: Zeg nooit nooit, net als bij mijn overgang naar Ferrari. Daar durfde ik ook al jaren niet meer aan te denken. Abu Dhabi was mogelijk mijn laatste race, maar misschien ook niet.

Het zou mooi zijn als mijn toekomst al duidelijk was, maar als een racestoeltje niet mogelijk blijkt ben ik altijd nog reservecoureur bij Ferrari. Dat is een mooie kans voor me. Derde rijder is bij elk ander team een saai baantje, maar bij Ferrari niet. Wie weet komt er nog een belletje van een ander team en race ik nog een jaar, we zien wel.
