Red Bull Racing en Vettel verontwaardigd door geruchten

Het team van Red Bull Racing en Sebastian Vettel hebben verontwaardigd gereageerd op enkele geruchten. Zo werd Vettel gevraagd of de huidige slechte vorm van zijn werkgever aanleiding is om een scheiding te overwegen. "Ik ben niet iemand die zijn team in de steek laat bij de eerste de beste tegenslag", was de reactie van de viervoudig wereldkampioen.

Hij vervolgde: "Op dit moment is nog niets verloren. Er is nog geen race verreden, er zijn nog geen punten verdeeld. Als ik de media moet geloven bevinden wij ons in een crisis. De hype is enorm en de meeste mensen hebben geen idee waar ze het over hebben. Ja, soms maak je fouten, maar geen enkel team heeft alle dagen probleemloos afgewerkt. Het klopt dat wij misschien op wat meer problemen zijn gestuit, maar iedereen bij Red Bull Racing is klaar om te knokken, inclusief ik."

Teambaas Christian Horner verwees het verhaal dat Red Bull Racing in Melbourne met een B-spec voor de RB10 aan de start verschijnt naar het rijk der fabelen. "Ik weet niet waar die speculatie vandaan komt. We hebben updates, zoals elk jaar en we zullen elke Grand Prix nieuwe onderdelen introduceren, maar dat is niets nieuws. Er is geen geheim ingrediënt, het zijn engineering problemen en we moeten met de engineers oplossingen verzinnen."
