Rick Winkelman GP2- en GP3-commentator bij Sport1

Rick Winkelman is door Sport1 aangesteld om de races in de GP2 en GP3 van commentaar te voorzien dit jaar. Het betaalkanaal zendt vanaf dit seizoen ook de wedstrijden in de opstapklasses rechtstreeks uit. Winkelman is geen onbekende naam in de autosport, hij doet al jaren verslag voor onder meer RTL en MotorsTV.

Olav Mol is dit jaar weer de Formule 1-commentator, maar alleen voor de kwalificaties en races. Omdat hij elke Grand Prix op locatie is om ook nog reportages te maken heeft hij geen tijd om de vrije trainingen te becommentariëren. De oefensessies zal Ronald van Dam voor zijn rekening nemen vanuit de studio in Amsterdam. Van Dam was vorig jaar de vaste commentator voor de Formule 1, maar hij kreeg veel kritiek op zijn commentaar, waarna Sport1 deze winter ingreep.
