Raikkonen hoopt op minstens een podiumfinish in Melbourne

Kimi Raikkonen vangt dit weekend zijn tweede periode in dienst van Ferrari officieel aan. De Fin kan nog geen voorspellingen doen over de vorm van de Scuderia. Dat zal Australië uitwijzen. Wel hoopt de wereldkampioen van 2007 dat een finish op het podium tot de mogelijkheden behoort.

Raikkonen: "In eerste instantie is het een kwestie van de race uitrijden. Als ons dat lukt, dan bevinden we ons al in een goede situatie. We willen ons op elk vlak verbeteren, maar eerst zullen we zien waar we precies staan. Ik ga niet lopen raden hoe het zich zal ontvouwen. Het enige is dat we vrijdag een voorproefje krijgen en van daaruit gaan we verder."

"Als alles soepel verloopt en we voeren onze taken optimaal uit, dan zouden we vooraan mee moeten doen. De laatste dagen van het testseizoen gingen niet naar wens, maar we hebben min of meer gedaan wat we van plan waren. We gaan ons best doen en dan zien we wel waar dat in uitmondt. Ik hoop dat het minstens genoeg is voor een plek op het podium."
