Rampf: "Sauber C29 voldoet aan onze verwachtingen"

BMW Sauber blikt met tevreden gevoel terug op de eerste testweek met de nieuwe C29. Pedro de la Rosa en Kamui Kobayashi zetten de Zwitserse renstal in Valencia elke dag op de tweede plaats, al hecht het team weinig belang aan de testtijden. Het aantal afgelegde kilometers stemt technisch directeur Willy Rampf positief.

We mogen tevreden zijn met de betrouwbaarheid van de auto. Al met al hebben we meer dan 1.000 kilometer gereden, zonder noemenswaardige problemen. Natuurlijk, ook wij moeten nog het nodige aanpassen en verbeteren, maar dat is ook het doel van deze tests. Het is moeilijker dan in voorgaande jaren om de snelheid te beoordelen. Het enige dat ik kan zeggen is dat de C29 voldoet aan onze verwachtingen gebaseerd op simulaties en windtunneldata. Verschillende brandstofhoeveelheden maken het onmogelijk om vergelijkingen met andere autos te trekken, legt Rampf uit.
