Tom Coronel oppermachtig bij S2000 Option Cup in Taiwan

Tom Coronel heeft afgelopen weekend geheerst tijdens de ronde van de S2000 Option Cup op het circuit van Penbay, in Taiwan. Daar deed de Nederlander als gastrijder mee in afwachting van zijn nieuwe Chevrolet Cruze voor het World Touring Car Championship.

Coronel veroverde pole position met een 1:48.7, wat al een nieuw ronderecord voor tweeliter-toerwagens op het circuit van Penbay was. Hij deed er in de race nog een schepje bovenop met een 1:48.4. In een BMW E90 320i reed hij onbedreigd naar de zege.

Coronel: "Het was een leuke uitdaging en een mooie gelegenheid om ritme op te doen met het oog op het komende WTCC-seizoen. Het was geweldig om weer achter het stuur van de BMW te kruipen, de auto waarmee ik in het verleden zoveel successen heb behaald."
