Laureus Award voor Sportman van het Jaar naar Vettel

Red Bull Racing-coureur Sebastian Vettel heeft de Laureus Award voor Sportman van het Jaar in de wacht gesleept. De Duitser kroonde zich in 2013 op onnavolgbare wijze voor de vierde keer tot wereldkampioen in de Formule 1. Dat was dit keer wel genoeg voor een Laureus Award.

Vettel was namelijk al vaker genomineerd voor de verkiezingen voor beste sporter van de wereld, maar altijd zonder succes. De vorige winnaars uit de Formule 1 waren Brawn GP (Sportploeg) en Jenson Button (Doorbraak) in 2010.
