Volkswagen over redding Campos: "Complete onzin"

Colin Kolles en Volkswagen claimen niet betrokken te zijn bij een eventueel reddingsplan voor het nieuwe team Campos Meta 1. De Spaanse krant AS berrichte dat Kolles als teambaas aan de slag zou gaan bij de renstal, die vanaf 2011 onder de vlag van Volkswagen zou racen.

Kolles: Ik werk niet voor Campos. Ik weet voor wie ik werk, wat ik doe en waarom ik het doe. De voormalig teambaas van MF1 Racing, Spyker en Force India wordt ook in verband gebracht met een positie bij aspirant-deelnemer Stefan GP.

Volkswagen-motorsportadviseur Hans-Joachim Stuck deelde aan Motorsport-total.com mede: Het is complete onzin. Deze geruchten vleien ons, maar de Formule 1 is momenteel totaal geen onderwerp bij Volkswagen. Mocht het ooit een onderwerp worden, dan is dat waarschijnlijk alleen op basis van een wereldmotor.
