Hamilton gaat in China voor derde overwinning op een rij

Mercedes-coureur Lewis Hamilton is vastberaden om een hattrick aan zeges te boeken. De Brit triomfeerde in Maleisië en Bahrein. In China heeft hij de kans om er drie op een rij van de maken. Dat lukte hem nooit eerder in de Formule 1.

Hamilton: "Ik bewaar gemengde gevoelens aan China. Aan de ene kant ben ik in Sjanghai pas twee maal naast het podium geëindigd. Aan de andere kant verspeelde ik hier in mijn debuutseizoen de koppositie in het kampioenschap door bij het inrijden van de pits in de grindbak te stranden. Over het algemeen ligt dit circuit me wel. Het doel is zoals altijd om te zegevieren. De mogelijkheid om drie Grands Prix achter elkaar te winnen is ongelooflijk."

"Het was wel lekker om even een onderbreking te hebben na de vorige Grand Prix, maar ik sta te popelen om weer in de auto te springen. Bahrein was fenomenaal. Niet alleen voor ons als team, maar voor de gehele sport. Het is vast niet de laatste keer dat we een geweldige show opvoeren. Ik zit lekker in mijn vel en in de pitbox is de positieve energie van het team voelbaar. Iedereen is erop gebrand om voort te borduren op onze sterke start van het seizoen."
