Nyck de Vries leidt na eerste weekend in de Eurocup

Nyck de Vries belandde zondag net naast het podium met een vierde plaats, wel gaat de Nederlander na het eerste weekend aan de leiding van het kampioenschap in de Formule Renault 2.0 Eurocup. De tweede race werd gewonnen door de Fransman Andrea Pizzitola.

De Vries had zaterdag zelf de eerste race op zijn naam geschreven. De andere Nederlanders in de Formule Renault 2.0 Eurocup, Steijn Schothorst en Roy Geerts, finishten respectievelijk als elfde en zestiende in race 1 en dertiende en negentiende in race 2.

In de Formule Renault 3.5, de hoofdmoot van de World Series by Renault, was het Oliver Rowland die als rookie een overwinning voor zich opeiste. Carlos Sainz jr zegevierde zaterdag in race 1 en voert in dat kampioenschap de tussenstand aan.

Meindert van Buuren en Beitske Visser moeten in deze serie de Nederlandse eer hoog houden, maar ze scoorden in Aragon geen punten. Ze eindigden respectievelijk als veertiende en achttiende in race 1 en als elfde en zestiende in race 2.
