Stefanovic bevestigt Japanse coureur voor Stefan GP

Stefan GP zal binnenkort de twee coureurs bekendmaken en één daarvan heeft de Japanse nationaliteit. Dat verklapte baas Zoran Stefanovic in gesprek met 422race.com. Vanwege de band van Stefan GP met Toyota is Kazuki Nakajima waarschijnlijk de rijder waarover Stefanovic het heeft.

De Serviër vertelde: We zijn in onderhandeling, maar we zijn er nog niet compleet uit. We zitten dicht tegen de beslissing aan en een officiële aankondiging laat niet lang meer op zich wachten. Nu nog niet, maar het duurt niet lang meer. Ik kan nog geen namen bevestigen. Er staan veel coureurs op onze shortlist, maar we geven nog niets prijs. Het enige dat ik kan zeggen is dat een van onze rijders Japans zal zijn.

Ons doel is nog steeds om volgende week in Portimao te testen, maar we zien wel. Op dit moment moeten we alles nog voorbereiden. We dienen nog enkele belangrijke kwesties op te lossen en daar zijn we mee bezig. Daar hoort het afronden van beide autos bijvoorbeeld bij.

De situatie is verder dat we gezond zijn en hopen op een startbewijs. We nemen de noodzakelijke stappen om te kunnen racen, mocht de FIA ons aan het veld toevoegen. De eerste auto is klaar en de tweede auto verwachten we halverwege volgende week af te hebben. We eisen niets van de FIA en respecteren de reglementen en procedures. We zijn klaar om te racen en ik denk dat het niet in het belang van de sport is om dat buiten de deur te houden. Bernie Ecclestone wil een gezonde sport en daarom steunt hij ons. Het is gezond voor de Formule 1 dat er serieuze en goede georganiseerde teams deelnemen.

Lees de verschillende steken die tussen de lijnen uitgedeeld worden aan Campos en USF1 :p.

Ik hoop dat het Sato is die mee mag doen. Nakajima is niet F1 materiaal.

  Zo denk ik ook over Nakajima, alleen ben ik bang dat hij \'backing\' van Toyota krijgt in de vorm van geld en/of goederen.

  Helemaal met je eens. Die Sato is zo slecht nog niet. En ook een betere keus dan die Chandhok, vind ik.
