Klien bij McLaren in beeld als opvolger van De la Rosa

Christian Klien is kandidaat om de positie van reservecoureur bij het team van McLaren in te vullen. Die positie is vrij nu jarenlange derde rijder Pedro de la Rosa de Britse renstal heeft verlaten om te gaan racen bij het team van Sauber.

McLaren heeft nog wel Gary Paffet in dienst als testrijder, maar teambaas Martin Whitmarsh gaf recent toe graag nog iemand aan de line-up toe te voegen. Klien is een belangrijke gegadigde om bij McLaren de rol van reserverijder op zich te nemen, zo meldt de Salzburger Nachrichten. De Oostenrijker reed in het verleden 48 Grands Prix en was de afgelopen jaren werkzaam als derde coureur bij BMW Sauber.
