Massa ervaart op testdag geen problemen met bandenslijtage

Felipe Massa kon gisteren weer aan de bak in Barcelona voor een testdag. De race op hetzelfde circuit verliep zondag desastreus voor de Williams-coureur. De Braziliaan kampte met veel bandenslijtage en zakte steeds verder weg. En dat terwijl teamgenoot Valtteri Bottas keurig een vijfde plaats in de wacht sleepte.

Maar op de testdag was het euvel van zondag verdwenen. Massa: "Eerlijk gezegd heb ik geen problemen met de bandenslijtage ervaren. Het enige verschil met de race was dat ik toen in druk verkeer reed. Dat is iets waar mee aan de slag moeten. We dienen te begrijpen wat we kunnen doen om de bandenslijtage te verminderen zodra we vlak achter iemand zitten."

"We hebben min of meer ons hele programma kunnen voltooien. We hebben wat rondjes op een natte baan gedaan met het oog op onze problemen in regenachtige kwalificaties eerder dit jaar. Dat was positief. Daarnaast verrichtte ik wat arbeid aan de set-up en wat aerodynamisch werk. Geen nieuwe onderdelen, maar wel wat afstellen."
