Werkgever Albers trekt zich terug uit 24 uur van Le Mans

Christijan Albers zal volgende maand toch niet aan de start van de 24 uur van Le Mans verschijnen. De Nederlander was bevestigd voor het LMP1-project van Lotus, maar de Duitse renstal heeft afstand gedaan van het startbewijs.

Lotus ontbrak al tijdens de eerste twee rondes in het World Endurance Championship en krijgt het T129-chassis niet op tijd klaar voor de technische keuring voor de 24 uur van Le Mans. De verwachting is dat het team later dit jaar nog wel in het WEC opduikt.

Millenium Racing vult het gat dat Lotus voor de 24 uur van Le Mans achter laat op met een LMP2-bolide. De rijders voor dat team zijn ook al bekend. Fabien Giroix, John Martin en Oliver Turvey zullen de wagen van Millenium Racing bemannen.
