Ferrari verstrekt Raikkonen een extra engineer in Canada

Het team van Ferrari heeft maatregelen getroffen om Kimi Raikkonen te helpen zijn lastige seizoen te verbeteren. Volgens de Toronto Sun is er in Canada een extra engineer aan de zijde van de Fin, namelijk David Lloyd.

Lloyd was tot op heden werkzaam op de fabriek in Maranello, maar zal in Canada hulp bieden aan de vaste engineer van Raikkonen, de Italiaan Antonio Spagnolo. Volgens het artikel is het niet duidelijk of het om een tijdelijke of permanente maatregel gaat.

Volgens El Confidencial is Lloyd aangesteld als extra kracht omdat hij een Brit is, net als de favoriete engineer van Raikkonen bij McLaren en Lotus, Mark Slade. Het feit dat Lloyd Brits is, zou de communicatie tussen Raikkonen en het team moeten verbeteren.

In het artikel worden vraagtekens gezet bij de werkrelatie van Raikkonen en Spagnolo: "Zes races zijn inmiddels verreden en Kimi is nog altijd niet tevreden met de auto. Iets is er mis, misschien wel de informatiewisseling tussen Kimi en Spagnolo?"
