Jenson Button zegt talkshow af vanwege wespensteek

McLaren-coureur Jenson Button zou afgelopen weekend opdraven in de Graham Norton Show op de BBC. De wereldkampioen van 2009 moest op het laatste moment afzeggen vanwege een allergische reactie na een wespensteek.

Via Twitter meldde hij: "Ik ben uitgeschakeld door een wesp! Ik was bezig met een fietsrit toen ik precies tussen mijn ogen gestoken werd. Ik voel me beroerd en ik lijk wel op een Avatar, afgezien van al dat blauw dan."

Presentator Graham Norton belde Button tijdens de opnames nog op om te vragen of hij Oostenrijk zou halen. "Ik hoop het", antwoordde de McLaren-rijder. "Dat is het gekke. Ik race aan 300 kilometer per uur, maar tegen een wesp kan ik niet op."
