Prodromou begint in september met werkzaamheden voor McLaren

Het team van McLaren kan vanaf september over aerodynamicaspecialist Peter Prodromou beschikken. Dat is de Britse renstal overeen gekomen met de vorige werkgever van Prodromou, Red Bull Racing. Deze afspraak maakt onderdeel uit van de schikking tussen de twee teams over Dan Fallows, die eveneens van Red Bull Racing naar McLaren zou verhuizen, maar daar uiteindelijk toch weer van af zag.

McLaren-baas Ron Dennis heeft hoge verwachtingen van nieuwe aanwinst Prodromou. "Peter voegt zich in september bij ons, dat zal een flinke impuls teweeg brengen. Hij zal onze gereorganiseerde aerodynamische afdeling nieuw leven in blazen, dus ik maak me geen zorgen over de aerodynamica voor 2015. Dat komt wel goed."

"Ons staat een steile leercurve met Honda te wachten, maar in onze vorige periode samen wonnen we in vijf jaar vijftig procent van de races. Daar verwacht ik dus ook niet al te veel problemen mee. Alleen het begin zal uitdagend zijn. Dat hoort bij autosport, het gaat met vallen en opstaan. Het is gewoon een kwestie van de mouwen opstropen en hard blijven werken."
