Sutil: "Contractverlenging bij Force India was veiligste keus"

Adrian Sutil had dit jaar voor een ander team dan Force India kunnen rijden, maar uiteindelijk koos hij toch voor een langer verblijf bij de Indiase renstal. De topteams namen wat hem betreft te veel tijd voor hun beslissingen en de renstallen die wel belangstelling hadden waren geen duidelijke verbetering. Sutil ging voor de zekerheid van Force India.

Dat onthulde de Duitser in gesprek met Sport1.de. Force India was de meest logische keuze. We stonden in contact met andere teams, maar niemand wist hoe de toekomst er uit ging zien. En bij de zogenaamde topteams was duidelijk dat ze niet snel de knoop door zouden hakken. Het was een risico om daar op te wachten. Gezien de vooruitgang van Force India besloot ik mijn contract te verlengen om zeker te zijn van een stoeltje voor 2010.
