Ecclestone overweegt aandelen van CVC te kopen

Bernie Ecclestone staat momenteel onder druk van onder andere CVC vanwege zijn mogelijke betrokkenheid bij een omkoopschandaal, maar een mogelijk ontslag bij CVC hoeft niet het einde van Ecclestone in de Formule 1 te betekenen. De Brit overweegt de aandelen van CVC over te nemen.

Op Silverstone gaat het gerucht rond dat CVC overweegt de aandelen in de sport te verkopen en een van de mogelijke geïnteresseerden in de aandelen lijkt Bernie Ecclestone te zijn. Op deze manier kan de Brit zichzelf aan de macht houden van de sport.

In gesprek met de Daily Express reageerde Ecclestone op de geruchten: "Ik heb gesproken met Donald Mackenzie van CVC en ik ben ermee bezig. Onze onderneming is een erg goede investering voor CVC en dat zou het voor iedereen zijn, inclusief mijzelf," aldus de Brit.
