Bianchi klaar om Raikkonen af te lossen bij Ferrari

Kimi Raikkonen verkondigde vorige week dat zijn huidige contract bij Ferrari wel eens zijn laatste verbintenis in de Formule 1 kan zijn. De Fin ligt nog tot eind 2015 vast bij de Scuderia. Daarna gunt de Italiaanse renstal Jules Bianchi wellicht een kans. De Fransman van Marussia behoort al jaren tot de opleiding van Ferrari en krijgt vandaag een voorproefje.

Bianchi test op Silverstone voor Ferrari omdat Raikkonen rust neemt na zijn zware crash van zondag. De Marussia-coureur is klaar voor een stapje hogerop, het liefst bij de Scuderia. "Natuurlijk ben ik klaar, in de Formule 1 moet je overal op voorbereid zijn. Op dit moment race ik voor Marussia, dus ik concentreer me daar volledig op. We zijn blij met wat we op dit moment laten zien."

Mocht Raikkonen toch te geblesseerd zijn om in Duitsland te racen, zou Ferrari dan een beroep doen op Bianchi? "Geen idee, dat kan je beter aan Ferrari vragen", aldus Bianchi. Testrijder Pedro de la Rosa is een andere gegadigde. De Spanjaard verklaarde: "Ik weet het niet, het team beslist. Maar ik denk dat Kimi in Duitsland gewoon van de partij is."
