Lopez verlaat US F1 en aast op reserverol bij Campos Meta 1

Jose Maria Lopez heeft geen vertrouwen meer in US F1 en ziet af van een dienstverband bij de Amerikaanse renstal die de start van het seizoen 2010 niet haalt. De Argentijn zet nu zijn zinnen op een reserverol bij Campos Meta 1. De racestoeltjes bij de Spaanse renstal lijken weggelegd voor Bruno Senna en Karun Chandhok.

Victor Rosso, een van de zaakwaarnemers van Lopez, deelde aan radiozender Cadena 3 Cordoba mede: De kans is groot dat Jose Maria als reserverijder bij Campos Meta 1 aan de bak kan. Dat we op dit late tijdstip toch nog wat voor elkaar kunnen krijgen is een hele opluchting, want het verloop van de afgelopen vijftien dagen voor ons wens ik mijn ergste vijand nog niet toe.

US F1-bazen Ken Anderson en Peter Windsor zijn de gebeten honden. Manager Felipe McCough: We hebben Jose Ramon Cabarente van Campos Meta 1 al verteld dat Jose Maria vrij en beschikbaar is. Ze zijn zich ervan bewust en nu is het afwachten wat ze besluiten. We nemen overal genoegen mee om Jose Maria in de Formule 1 te brengen, zelfs een reserverol.

Anderson en Windsor reizen ergens in de komende dagen naar Argentinië om tekst en uitleg te geven. Zij zijn verantwoordelijk voor deze problemen. Ze hebben de FIA, de FOM, de FOTA en de Concorde Agreement misleid.
