'Luca Marmorini vindt onderdak bij Renault Sport F1'

Ferrari bevestigde vorige week dat motorenbaas Luca Marmorini de Scuderia had verlaten, maar de Italiaan zou alweer een nieuwe werkgever in de Formule 1 gevonden hebben. Corriere della Sera bericht dat hij aan de slag gaat bij Renault Sport F1.

Marmorini neemt wat collega's uit Maranello mee als onderdeel van een herstructurering bij Renault Sport F1. De Italiaanse krant meldt dat de Franse motorleverancier het nieuws ergens in de komende dagen officieel zal aankondigen.

Ook bij Scuderia Toro Rosso wat verschuivingen. De Italiaanse renstal zou volgens Autosprint afscheid genomen hebben van engineer Laurent Mekies. Jody Eggington zou reeds benaderd zijn om Mekies op te volgen. Eggington behoort tot de medewerkers die recent zijn ontslagen bij Caterham.

Toro Rosso zou ook een oogje hebben laten vallen op Benjamin Waterhouse van Sauber. Het team ziet in hem de ideale rechterhand voor technisch directeur James Key. Het personeelsbestand van de Italiaanse renstal is ondertussen gegroeid naar bijna 400 werknemers.
