Marussia beslist pas na het seizoen over line-up voor 2015

Het team van Marussia is zeer te spreken over de verrichtingen van coureurs Jules Bianchi en Max Chilton. Toch kon de Russische renstal geen van beiden al garanties geven met het oog op volgend jaar. Bianchi vindt dat vast niet heel erg, de Fransman wil graag hogerop. Chilton daarentegen kan nergens anders terecht en heeft al zijn hoop op Marussia gevestigd.

Marussia-directeur Graeme Lowdon verklaarde aan Crash.net: "Zoals altijd zijn er wel 101 factoren die het team beïnvloeden bij hun voorkeuren en keuzes voor de line-up. Andersom geldt hetzelfde voor rijders. Wat de line-up voor volgend seizoen betreft wachten we zoals gebruikelijk tot december. Tot die tijd focussen we ons volledig op het consolideren van onze positie."

"Ik ben van mening dat Bianchi en Chilton het heel behoorlijk doen. De sfeer binnen het team is heel positief, onze coureurs pushen elkaar op een gezonde manier. Dit is het eerste seizoen waarin onze line-up intact is gebleven ten opzichte van een jaar eerder en dat betaalt zich uit. Ze leren allebei nog. We bieden ze een stabiele werkplek om zichzelf verder te ontwikkelen."

  Weet niet of het verstandig is om te zeggen maar, eindelijk! Heb het een tijd geleden ook al gezegd en nu is het dan toch gebeurd. Heb helemaal niks tegen Di Montezemolo, hij heeft Ferrari nota bene groot gebracht en er een leidende sportwagen fabrikant van gemaakt. Nu is het echter tijd dat een jong persoon het verder brengt en met zijn tijd mee laat gaan. Een nieuw tijdperk, niet meer teren op het verleden.
