Heidfeld: "Red Bull Racing heeft duidelijk de snelste auto"

Mercedes GP-reserverijder Nick Heidfeld gelooft dat Red Bull Racing zijn zaakjes het best voor elkaar heeft met de seizoensopening in Bahrein in aantocht. Sebastian Vettel en Mark Webber zijn wat hem betreft de topfavorieten voor de zege in de eerste Grand Prix.

Heidfeld vertrouwde Auto Motor und Sport toe: “Red Bull Racing beschikt met de RB6 duidelijk over de snelste auto. Het is bijna beangstigend hoe makkelijk Sebastian en Mark op de limiet van de bolide kunnen rijden.”

    Ik weet het niet,
    Iedereen vinden dat Red Bull Racing al een topteam is! Waar waren ze in 2006? nergens te vinden, in 2007? ook niet! 2008 dan? Helaas ook niet en met veel pech! In 2009 was ander verhaal, de eerst helf van seizoen waren ook niet sneller, pas in de tweede helf van seizoen 2009, zij waren sneller dan Brauw GP BMW,Ferrari ...en ander teams maar niet McLaren, en ze beschouwen al als een topteam! Ik vind van niks.
    De top teams allertijd zijn Ferrari &amp; McLaren, en dat bliijf ook zo hopelijk dit jaar!
    PS: Red Bull is sneller ja, dat geloof ik ja, maar.. hun auto is niet betrouwbaar. Zeker niet!

      De Red Bull auto was in 2009 al vanaf het begin snel genoeg geweest. Blunders van het team en de rijders zorgden dat ze heel veel punten lieten liggen in 6 van de eerste 7 races.

      Waarom zou hun auto niet betrouwbaar zijn? Ze zijn in 2009 maar 1 keer uitgevallen met mechanische pech (1 motorstoring voor Vettel) en dan een keer dat Webber niet goed met zijn remmen omging en deze kapot sleet.

      Ik heb eerlijk gezegd geen flauw idee waar ze staan. Ze hebben geen volledig testprogramma af kunnen werken dus we kunnen ze niet goed vergelijken met de andere teams. Wat dat betreft zou ik ze dus eerder op een achterstand verwachten, maar zoveel test tijd hebben ze nou ook weer niet verloren.

    De topteams allertijden? Zowel Ferrari als McLaren hebben periodes in hun bestaan gehad dat ze net een deuk in een pakje boter konden rijden. En waarom noem je het team van Williams niet in je rijtje (9 constructeurstitels behaald vanaf 1978 tegenover 16 constructeurstitels voor Ferrari vanaf 1950)?

    Qua organisatie doet Red Bull niet onder voor een McLaren of een Ferrari. En met een ontwerper als Newey en rijder als Vettel in de gelederen... mag je best een topteam genoemd worden.

    In de tests waren ze wel regelmatig heel snel en ze zijn zeker een topteam sinds de komst van Vettel in 2009. Dat mannetje heeft gewoon heel veel inzicht. In 2008 wist hij een race te winnen met een Toro Rosso! In 2009 hebben ze wel wat betrouwbaareidsproblemen gekend, maar niet zozeer met de auto. Die Renaultmotor ging behoorlijk vaak stuk waardoor ze steeds van motor moesten wisselen en dergelijke. Maar ze waren duidelijk het sterkste team zonder diffuser. Maar Vettel/Newey lijkt een heel goed huwelijk. Ik denk dat Ferrari en Red Bull in Bahrein de dienst uit zullen maken maar het zal close zijn! Heb er zin in!

      Webber zei laatst dat ze de Renault motor heel erg lang door konden gebruiken. Dat hij niet in vermogen afnam zoals de Ferrari gebruikers klaagden.

      Als je de motor tijdens de trainingen dan wat langer door gebruikt loop je ook meer risico dat deze ploft.
