Alain Prost doet in Bahrein dienst als racesteward

Oud Formule 1-coureur Alain Prost is in Bahrein de oud-coureur die samen met de racestewards zal beslissen over eventuele straffen. De internationale autosportbond FIA besloot de hulp van oud-rijders in te schakelen om de besluiten van de stewards transparenter en eerlijker te maken.

Prost is bij de Grand Prix van Bahrein de eerste oud-coureur die mee mag beslissen. De Fransman reed tussen 1980 en 1993 199 Grands Prix en hij won vier maal de wereldtitel. In 1985, 1986 en 1989 werd hij kampioen in een McLaren, in 1993 was hij in een Williams de beste.
