Williams plukt commercieel de vruchten van huidige line-up

Williams maakte tijdens het Italiaanse Grand Prix-weekend bekend dat Valtteri Bottas en Felipe Massa ook volgend seizoen de eer van het team verdedigen. Die duidelijkheid komt van pas in de gesprekken met sponsors en partners, verkondigde vice-teambaas Claire Williams.

Op de vraag of Williams de vruchten plukt van de huidige line-up, antwoordde ze: "Ja, absoluut. Elke partner of potentiële sponsor waar je mee praat wil graag weten wie het volgende jaar de stoeltjes bemannen. Dat hebben we zeker meegenomen in onze overwegingen om de contracten van Bottas en Massa te verlengen."

Williams heeft niet veel extra's nodig om een serieuze gooi naar de titel te doen, stelt Claire Williams. "Het is een kwestie van finetunen. Veel dingen waar we in de achterhoede mee weg kwamen spelen ons nog parten. Als we nu een steekje laten vallen kost dat meteen punten. Elk element van het team dient perfect te functioneren en dat vergt tijd."
