Force India 'gaat tot het gaatje' om McLaren te verslaan

Force India-teambaas Vijay Mallya heeft beloofd om alle zeilen bij te zetten om McLaren dit seizoen te verslaan. Beide renstallen zijn met elkaar in een gevecht verwikkeld om de vijfde plek bij de constructeurs. McLaren heeft op dit moment één puntje meer dan Force India.

Mallya: "O ja, we reserveren absoluut middelen om dit duel in ons voordeel te beslechten. De competitie met McLaren is stevig en we gaan tot het gaatje. Het is competitief, maar hier doe je het voor. Ron Dennis en ik zijn vrienden, maar we vinden het ook leuk om het tegen elkaar op te nemen."

"We staan maar een puntje achter, dus het kan nog alle kanten op. Het is echt nek-aan-nek, we doen ons best en dan zien we aan het eind van het seizoen wel waar dat toe heeft geleid. Abu Dhabi kan alles overhoop halen met die dubbele punten. Soms speel ik met de gedachte om alles op die race te zetten en de auto alleen daarvoor te ontwikkelen, maar dat is niet erg praktisch."
