Raikkonen komt door motorproblemen niet verder dan tiende startplek

Kimi Raikkonen kampte tijdens de derde vrije training met een motorgerelateerd probleem. Hierdoor kreeg de Fin zijn zaakjes tijdens de kwalificatie niet geheel op orde en zal Raikkonen als tiende moeten starten op Suzuka.

Raikkonen spreekt over een voorspelbare dag: "Het ging zoals verwacht. Ik had een goed gevoel in de auto, maar een aantal zaken waar we vrijdag al mee worstelden, hebben we niet op kunnen lossen. In de derde vrije training hadden we ook nog problemen, waardoor we eerder moesten stoppen. Door al de problemen hebben we wat onderdelen niet kunnen testen die me wel hadden kunnen helpen met de set-up."

"Het team heeft fantastisch werk geleverd door de auto zo snel op te lappen," vervolgt de Fin. "Door al de problemen met de balans kon ik tijdens de kwalificatie niet zo hard pushen als ik wilde. Hopelijk rijd ik morgen een sterke race en kan ik nog wat plekjes goedmaken in het veld."
