Cosworth tevreden met prestaties in Bahrein

Cosworth keert dit seizoen na jaren afwezigheid terug in de Formule 1 en is in 2010 meteen hofleverancier. De motorproducent voorziet met Lotus F1 Racing, Virgin Racing, Hispania Racing en Williams vier teams van krachtbronnen. In Bahrein kwamen vier van de acht coureurs met een Cosworth V8 aan de finish en Rubens Barrichello zorgde voor het enige puntje.

Toch zijn ze bij Cosworth tevreden over het optreden bij de eerste race. "Na maanden van ontwikkelen was het goed om eindelijk weer te racen", begint directeur Mark Gallagher. "Het gaf voldoening om onze vier teams in actie te zien en getuige te zijn van het debuut van drie nieuwe teams. Wat de prestaties betreft kunnen we volgens mij zeer tevreden zijn met de CA2010-motor. Beide Williams-coureurs haalden de eindstreep en Rubens zorgde voor een punt."

"Coureurs hebben positieve en constructieve feedback over de prestaties en rijbaarheid van onze motor gegeven. We hebben veel data verzameld op een circuit dat veeleisend is voor de motor en dat gaan we nu analyseren in de fabriek in Northampton. Al met al was het een solide start van 2010 voor ons wat betreft de prestaties en de betrouwbaarheid."
