Marussia: "Aan Bianchi verschuldigd om door te zetten"

Het team van Marussia gaat er alles aan doen om in de resterende drie races van dit seizoen de negende positie in het kampioenschap bij de constructeurs te consolideren. De Russische renstal dankt die klassering aan Jules Bianchi. De Fransman vecht in Japan voor zijn leven na zijn crash op Suzuka. Marussia moet ook knokken om deze plek over de streep te trekken.

Teamdirecteur Graeme Lowdon: "Ik hoop dat ons gebaar in Rusland geholpen heeft voor Jules en zijn familie. Dat was in elk geval wel de intentie. We hebben ons best gedaan om waardig met deze situatie om te springen. Het enige dat we nu kunnen doen voor Jules en zijn familie is onze positie in de tussenstand met hand en tand verdedigen. Dat zijn we aan hem verschuldigd."

"Jules heeft een bepalende rol gespeeld in onze huidige klassering. Dankzij zijn geweldige optreden in Monaco staan we waar nu staan. Deze positie is heel waardevol voor ons, zowel financieel als sportief. We hebben nog drie races te gaan, inclusief Abu Dhabi waar dubbele punten worden uitgedeeld. Dat zorgt wel voor druk, maar we blijven pushen."
