Continental neemt het stokje niet over van Bridgestone

De Formule 1 moet zoals het er nu naar uit ziet voor volgend jaar op zoek naar een nieuwe bandenleverancier. Bridgestone kondigde eind 2009 aan na 2010 uit de koningsklasse van de autosport te stappen en pogingen om de Japanse bandenfabrikant om te praten haalden vooralsnog niets uit. De zoektocht naar een nieuwe bandenleverancier verloopt moeizaam.

Continental is in ieder geval duidelijk, zij nemen het stokje niet over van Bridgestone. Een woordvoerder van het Duitse concern vertrouwde F1Today.nl toe: "Het is een eer dat wij als potentiële Formule 1-partner beschouwd worden, maar dat hebben we nooit gewild en zoals de zaken nu liggen worden we ook nooit de officiële bandenleverancier van de Formule 1."

"Vanwege strategische marketingredenen hebben we voor professioneel voetbal als ons platform gekozen en daar zijn we al vijftien jaar zeer succesvol aan verbonden. We behalen de doelen voor meer naamsbekendheid, we zijn erin geslaagd om de sponsoring te integreren in de dagelijkse gang van zaken met promoties en dergelijken, en onze werknemers zijn trots om onderdeel uit te maken van een partner van de UEFA en FIFA."

"Voor ons is er geen noodzaak om Continental of een van onze andere merken aan de autosport te verbinden. Dat is al jaren het terrein van onze concurrenten. Wij investeren liever in andere unieke projecten op een manier die bij Continental past."

Alle circuits worden voorzien van rails. Hebben ze geen banden meer nodig. En een optocht is het toch al, dus er veranderd niets.

Er blijven niet veel meer over....

Bridgestone, Goodyear, continental niet (en volgens mij ook Michelin niet)....

Dan houd je niet veel A-merken meer over... Pirelli, Firestone of Dunlop....

Of gaan we starks formule 1 rijden op Avon banden of Hancook haha.....

Misschien wel Vredestein... hebben we nog een nederlands tintje

Bridgestone en Firestone is hetzelfde bedrijf. Dus Firestone kun je ook wel van de lijst halen.

Pirelli en Goodyear zeiden een paar maanden geleden nog \"nee\" tegen de F1, maar dat kan natuurlijk best veranderen.

Michelin was een paar weken terug wel in gesprek met de FIA. Heb niet meer gelezen of daar nu iets concreets uit was gekomen.

Michelin heeft natuurlijk al F1 ervaring en ze zaten in de A1GP en die klasse is nu weg.
