Lotus toont nieuwe neus voor vrije trainingen in Austin

De Lotus E22 heeft een ander uiterlijk voor de vrije trainingen bij de Grand Prix van de Verenigde Staten. De Britse renstal heeft de karakteristieke asymmetrische stemvork-neus ingeruild voor een lage brede neus die wat weg heeft van de neus van Mercedes.

Dit alles ter voorbereiding op volgend seizoen, wanneer de gespleten neus van Lotus niet langer toegestaan is. Het team moet dus wel overstappen op iets anders en verzamelt vandaag in Austin alvast wat data over de lage brede neus voor 2015.

Om op de baan met de nieuwe neus te experimenteren was een crashtest nodig en dat betekende een aardige investering voor een team als Lotus, dat het niet breed heeft. Het geeft wel aan dat de Britse renstal het serieus aanpakt om volgend jaar beter voor de dag te komen.
