Brazilië verplaatst tractor na ongeluk van Bianchi in Japan

De organisatie van de Braziliaanse Grand Prix heeft veiligheidsmaatregelen getroffen naar aanleiding van de zware crash van Jules Bianchi in Japan. De Fransman gleed in de regen op Suzuka op hoge snelheid tegen een bergingsvoertuig aan en ligt nog altijd op de intensive care in het ziekenhuis.

Globo bericht dat een tractor die auto's weg zou moeten takelen in de Senna S, bochten 2 en 3, een andere locatie toegewezen gekregen heeft. "Het ongeluk van Bianchi heeft ons absoluut aan het denken gezet", aldus Luis Ernesto Morales, de hoofdengineer op het circuit van Interlagos.

"Een van de veranderingen die we doorgevoerd hebben is een nieuwe baanpost bij de nieuwe uitloopstrook bij de Senna S, waardoor geen tractor op dat punt de baan hoeft te betreden om gestrande wagens op te ruimen. Dat komt de veiligheid ongetwijfeld ten goede."
