Superfund en Formtech wagen geen nieuwe poging voor startbewijs

Superfund zal zich niet aanmelden voor de selectieprocedure voor nieuwe teams voor 2011. De Oostenrijkse investeringsmaatschappij onder leiding van Christian Baha probeerde vorig jaar wel toe te treden, maar zag de startbewijzen naar Manor Grand Prix (nu Virgin Racing), Campos Meta 1 (nu Hispania Racing) en US F1 (haalde de start van 2010 niet) gaan.

Aan de nieuwe selectieronde met het oog op volgend seizoen doet Superfund niet mee. Baha bevestigde tegenover Autosport: "Superfund schrijft zich niet in voor 2011." Een andere kandidaat voor dit jaar was Formtech, maar ook Formtech laat de nieuwe selectieprocedure aan zich voorbij gaan. Directeur Mark Preston: "Toetreding tot de Formule 1 maakt niet langer deel uit van onze plannen."
