Testupdate 07.00 uur: Code rood vanwege Max Verstappen

Deze week vindt de laatste Formule 1-test van dit jaar plaats. In Abu Dhabi rijden voornamelijk testrijders en jonge coureurs, waaronder Max Verstappen. We proberen jullie via een uurlijkse update zo goed mogelijk op de hoogte te houden van de gebeurtenissen op Yas Marina Circuit.

Het eerste uur van de eerste testdag is inmiddels afgewerkt en de sessie lag geruime tijd stil. Max Verstappen was verantwoordelijk voor de code rood. De jonge Nederlander was in bocht 19 in de bandenstapels beland. Niet ernstig, de voorkant van de Toro Rosso was niet zwaar beschadigd, maar de test moest wel stil gelegd worden. Olav Mol twittert dat aan de achterkant van de STR9 iets afbrak.

Verder zijn er, mede door de neutralisatie, nog weinig tijden genoteerd. De coureurs hebben vooral aero tests en installatierondes afgelegd. De test in Abu Dhabi moet voor iedereen nog echt op gang komen. Marcus Ericsson heeft zijn eerste meters voor Sauber gemaakt en Jolyon Palmer komt in actie voor Force India. McLaren is nog niet de baan op geweest met de Honda V6.
