Marchionne verlangt proactief en moedig Ferrari

"Vrees de verandering niet, wees proactief en durf met nieuwe ideeën te komen. Ik weet dat jullie het kunnen en dat is wat Ferrari nodig heeft." Dat luidde het advies van Ferrari-voorzitter Sergio Marchionne aan het personeel tijdens een toespraak in de fabriek in Maranello. Het gebrek aan vernieuwende ideeën is al langer een verwijt aan het adres van de Scuderia.

Marchionne vervolgde: "Ik zie veel talent als ik de zaal in kijk. Ik ben hier om jullie in staat te stellen om jullie potentie waar te maken en de benodigde middelen te geven zodat jullie kwaliteiten tot volle wasdom komen. Dan is het slechts een kwestie van tijd voordat ons fantastische rijdersduo zich op de voorste rij in de Formule 1 nestelt."

"Daarom heb ik ook Maurizio Arrivabene aangesteld als nieuwe teambaas. Hij moet zorgen voor efficiënt leiderschap. Ik heb het volste vertrouwen in Maurizio. Hij is bekend met de Formule 1, hij loopt al heel lang in dit wereldje rond en hij is de aangewezen persoon om Ferrari door deze moeilijke periode voor de Scuderia, en voor de sport, heen te loodsen."
