Nürburgring zwijgt, Hockenheimring onderhandelt

Bernie Ecclestone beweerde gisteren stellig dat de Duitse Grand Prix dit jaar opnieuw op de Hockenheimring plaats vindt, maar dat ligt allemaal nog niet vast. Eigenlijk is de Nürburgring aan de beurt, maar het circuit in de Eifel beschikt niet over een contract voor 2015. Het is echter nog geen voldongen feit dat Hockenheim de rol van gastheer op zich neemt.

Bij de Nürburgring is in elk geval niemand op de hoogte gebracht dat de Grand Prix dit jaar naar de Hockenheimring gaat. Verder onthouden ze zich bij het circuit in de Duitse Eifel van commentaar. In Hockenheim rekent men zich ook niet rijk. Circuitdirecteur Georg Sieler vertelde aan Auto Motor und Sport: "We kunnen pas iets zeggen zodra een contract is getekend en zover is het nog niet."

Seiler en Ecclestone zijn nog in onderhandeling over de financiële voorwaarden voor een jaarlijkse Grand Prix op de Hockenheimring. "Natuurlijk willen ook wij graag zwarte cijfers schrijven. In uitzonderlijke omstandigheden hebben we er ook vrede mee als we break-even draaien. Hoe dan ook, het is wenselijk en noodzakelijk om spoedig de knoop door te hakken."

het echte verhaal... :

Bernie heeft een bod uitgebracht op de nurburgring... echter bood iemand meer geld... en dus ging de ring naar een andere eigenaar : de Capricorn Group ... en nu boycot Bernie het circuit dus gewoon...

  En dat weet Seiler ook en die wil dus volkomen terecht een financieel gezonde deal. En die zullen ze wel krijgen ook. Lijkt me ook vrij normaal dat je als circuit alleen evenementen wilt die geld opleveren. Ik heb dan geen circuit, maar hier gaat ook niks de deur uit met minmarge...
