Geen Russische en Maleisische nachtraces in 2015

De organisatoren van de Russische en Maleisische GP's geven aan dat ze in 2015 geen nachtrace zullen organiseren. Bij beide races ging het gerucht rond dat de Grand Prix misschien onder lampen zou worden verreden, iets waar nu meer duidelijkheid over is.

Zo zou Maleisië haar race ´s nachts houden om het spektakel van Singapore na te bootsen en om toegankelijker te zijn voor Europese fans. Bernie Ecclestone heeft volgens de organisatoren jarenlang hiervoor gepusht, maar lijkt hier volgens hen nu mee op te houden: "In het verleden pushte Bernie veel voor een nachtrace, maar nu luistert hij voor het eerst naar wat wij eigenlijk willen."

Ook de race in Rusland zou wellicht onder de lampen worden verreden, maar organisator Sergey Vorobyov maakt een einde aan die geruchten. Goed voor de fans, aangezien ze volgens hem door de duidelijkheid nu alvast hun GP-weekend kunnen plannen.

Opvallend is dat de geruchten rondgingen dat beide races verlaat zouden worden, maar in de praktijk allebei de races juist eerder worden verreden. De GP van Maleisië begint één uur eerder om drie uur 's middags en de race in Sochi begint ook één uur eerder om twee uur 's middags.
