FIA overweegt meerdere bandenleveranciers toe te staan

De internationale autosportbond FIA denkt erover om af te stappen van één vaste bandenleverancier. Bridgestone neemt na 2010 afscheid van de Formule 1 en er heeft zich nog geen vervanger aangediend. Michelin wil wel een comeback in de koningsklasse van de autosport maken, maar alleen als op bandengebied de competitie terugkeert. En de FIA overweegt het.

Dat bericht Autosport. Bronnen dicht bij Michelin stellen dat de Franse bandenfabrikant wellicht voor het einde van deze maand al haar rentree aankondigt. De onderhandelingen met de FIA verkeren in een vergevorderd stadium. Kumho en Hankook zijn twee andere bandenfabrikanten die interesse zouden hebben om tot de Formule 1 toe te treden.
