Sebastian Vettel erg tevreden met eerste zege van 2010

Sebastian Vettel kende eindelijk een race zonder problemen aan zijn Red Bull Racing-bolide en pakte in Maleisië zijn eerste overwinning van het seizoen. De Duister pakte bij de start al de leiding over en gaf deze nooit meer af.

"Ik had een goede start en kwam naar Mark Webber", vertelde Vettel op de persconferentie. "Nico Rosberg kwam nog naast me, maar ik wist hem in de run naar de eerste bocht af te schudden. Ik remde wat later en pakte Mark in de eerste bocht. Hij kwam echter wat beter uit de tweede bocht, maar kon geen aanval meer plaatsen."

"Daarna was het vooral een kwestie van wegrijden bij de rest van het veld en ik zag dat Mark en ik ongeveer dezelfde snelheid hadden. Misschien was hij in de eerste stint nog wat sneller dan mij, maar ik begon even later met het sparen van mijn banden."

"De tweede stint was erg lang en het was ook erg warm. Fysiek was het erg zwaar en op sommige momenten hoopte ik zelfs op regen, alleen al voor de afkoeling. Gisteren waren het geen makkelijke omstandigheden, maar vandaag hadden wij de beste auto. Zeker na de eerste twee races is dit een geweldig resultaat voor mij en het team. Ze hebben goed werk verricht."
